volcanic's Diaryland Diary

bitty but not moaning

I'm here.

It's been a busy ol' week, that's all. I went back to work and it was sufficiently horrid to convince me that change is good... so change may well be on the horizon. Fingers crossed, eh?

I'm busy right now. Just doing things, and using my time constructively, even when I'm doing nice, easy things. I had my dear best friend's two stunningly wonderful and good and beautiful children staying for the weekend. Her son's two years younger than mine, so i sent them both off to the children's matinee at the cinema, and they had a wild time, by all accounts. Pre-departure, they had to change into their funkiest outfits (nike and combats for mine, hawaiian shirt for hers) and do their hair (gelled up quiff for mine, gelled up fin for hers!) and off they trooped with their crisps and cartons of juice.

Two hours later, after I'd been to the post-office and the new Netto store (Scandinavian for shit, if you ask me) and had a coffee in Safeways, all accompanied by my beautiful 21 month old ungodly-daughter), I went to pick them up. They whooped out, red-faced and over-excited, having made friends with some other children, who they'd treated to "funny stories in the toilets" (don't ask) and won a huge bag of popcorn each. Sounded like excellent fun to me.

I saw the guy who introduced me to Arthur a few times over the weekend, too.

That was interesting to say the least... it seems that last saturday, while I was out with my dear best friend celebrating my birthday, Arthur saw us in the pub. Now, let's not forget here that Arthur doesn't even live in this town. Seemingly, Arthur saw us in my local (which isn't a big pub by any stretch of the imagination) and when we left, told his friends that he thought I'd stormed out because he ignored me.

Bizarre. And anyway, he DID ignore me- well, that's to say he certainly didn't come on over and say "Hi". i don't know. I'm just pleased that before we left my house that night, my dear best freind had told me how lovely I looked (and she reassured me of that when I recounted the story to her the other night).

And you know what I think?

HA!
