More to the point, how many of you have done anything about it? I often say (and indeed, I say it in the mail I pasted below) that if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. I hold with that sentiment. And that's whay I sent a mail to Andrew telling him so... I decided to use the "recommend this diary to a pal" feature. You might like to do the same. You can do it here. Actually, that's NOT true. I don't like it. I'm sickened that this kind of output is being hosted on Diaryland. I have strong views on censorship, and have actively fought against it in the past. However, I do feel that if people like yourself, who offer a diary-hosting service are prepared to continue to host this kind of offensive material, under the guise of it being "Free Speech", then you too are implicated as being part of the problem, rather than part of the solution. I'm aware that there are many diaries hosted on Diaryland that have questionable content, be it sexual, pro-eating disorders or whatever. However, paedophilia remains not just a crime in legal terms, but also a moral, ethical and humanitarian crime. Eating disorders, promiscuity, S&M, drug taking and so on largely remain the choice of the individual. Child abuse will always be the enforced sexual actions of an adult onto a child who has not made an informed consensual decision to participate in these acts. I'm a registered psychiatric nurse. I work with extremely damaged people, many of whom have committed serious criminal acts, as a result of their illness. One strong thing that links the majority of these tortured, damaged people is the fact that they were abused as children. Abused by adults who have cunning ways of justifying thier abusive behaviour towards these innocent children as being "loving", "natural" and "freedom of choice". The writer of this diary clearly states these points in his writing, calling his detractors "Sheeple" who are unable to form their own opinions and who resultingly follow the herd with their alleged "reactionary" reactions to his thoughts. I sincerely hope you will have a long, hard think about how you justify to yourself (as opposed to your Diaryland clientele) your decision to continue hosting this diary. I'm not going to threaten to report you to your ISP or whoever I should report you to for your actions. As far as I can see, Andrew, you are responsible first and foremost to yourself, and as such, need to ask yourself very hard whether or not Diaryland was set up to host pro-paedophilia material. Is that what you wanted for Diaryland? Is that what all your long hard hours spent coding and debugging and dealing with user e-mails were for? Do you feel comfortable knowing that you are intrinsically implicated in the distribution of pro-paedophilia propoganda? I'd love to know... Yours, Volcanic... Go on, do the right thing...
