From an evil Sag Paneer (that's spinach'n'cheese) from the Indian last night. What was meant to be a lovely treat has turned our house into a Bosch-ian version of hell set in a laundry-cum-sickbay. For the record, I will be reporting the establishment concerned, as is the the very sweet emergency telephone doctor who I spoke to at 7am, following a night where first I was in agony and then violently sick, and then Fatboy followed suit. All over my bed. Nice. He's just barfed all over the sofa, and we're running out of clean, dry places to sit, and I've used so much Zoflora disenfectant that the smell of that's nauseating me as well. My apologies for being so graphic about this- it's the only thing that's happened to me today: sick, washing, and what Spider Jerusalem would no doubt gleefully refer to as "noxious slurry". On a different note, the fake diaries topic has kept me amused and entertained. I for one wasn't a reader of Limey Carter, but I've read the ensuing fall-out with interest. Does nobody else remember the "Kaycee Nicole" furore of last year, when a blog allegedly by a girl dying of leukaemia was exposed as being not at all what it seemed? You don't? Aah well- look here and read about the guy who set up the blog for fell for the story hook, line and sinker. It's all on a slightly different scale to Limey Carter's scam, which appears to have been an "exercise in creative writing", but fascinating nonetheless. And then there's the written-in-not-yet-invented-Biro Hitler Diaries... Grim makes a valid point about ALL diaries only ever revealing what the author wants people to know, subjectifying the "truth" before it even leaves the starting blocks. I'd like to add somnething: that people (ie readers) only ever see what they want to see. Heheh.
