volcanic's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- happy yawny stuff Listy-type entry tonight, to make sure everything gets squozed in. 01] I've just had two sets of viewers come and see my house. Fingers crossed that one of them want it, because they seemed nice. having said that, two more sets tomorrow, so we're bound to come up trumps somewhere along the line. 02] It's my last day at work tomorrow. I will be a babbling mess of tears, and strangely bereft of my role. I will not be a nurse, in any proper sense, anymore 03] I got over the embarrassing Bob episode. he emailed me at the weekend, and lots more since then. I saw him at work today and we chatted and had a nice time. My friend apparently has pointed out to him that, seeing as everyone can see there's something going on, wouldn't it make sense if he asked me out. I'm not too freaked by her actions, but we'll wait and see what Bob does next. 04] I got a guy's phone number yesterday. Another guy. One who I used to fancy in an unhurried and wistful kind of way. It was thrust upon me by a girl who thinks we should get together. apparently he insisted I took his number. 05] I got a girl's phone number yesterday, too. It was a good day for phone numbers. I met her at a gay bar after her friends stalked me and told me that she really fancied me. I was drunk and kind of up for it at the time, because she seemed like a lovely woman. Today I feel a bit of a phoney sexual tourist. I move in a fortnight, this isn't a good time to get into exploring-my-sexuality situations with people who are far too nice to not treat very well. If you ever want a picture of someone squirming embarassedly, try to imagine Ms V attempting to give an intelligent and non-woolly answer to the question, "So, are you gay, then?" Bah. I need to work on this whole thing a bit more, I feel. Still, my the two guys I went with, who are regulars at this bar, were shocked and impressed that I got pulled within half-an-hour of arriving. They were? Not half as much as I was... 05] It's unlikely I'll use either of these phone numbers. The only person who I'd make the effort to squeeze into the franticity right now is Bob. (WHY did I decide to call him Bob? It's not at all representative of him.) Bob was tired and very vulnerable-seeming today. it was a bit odd. I felt the student Vs staff nurse power thing a bit today,too, and my friend confirmed that he was a bit wary of the fact that technically, in the workplace I'm hierarchically above him. I felt a bit insensitive when I realised that, and remembered that when I was a student nurse, and I went out with a staff nurse, it was a BIG DEAL. It shouldn't have been, but it was. Not quite as dodgy as teachers dating their pupils, but a little way along that continuum. Luckily, this time tomorrow, I cease to be a nurse. In moments of daydreaming, I'm saying to him: "You. My bed. NOW" 06] I'm shattered. I have a bath run, that smells heavenly, courtesy of this rather wonderful man.
